"TASTE YOUR TEAR" You're prettier than a soft spring rain, settling down in the morning light. And more beautiful than a wildflower, bedding itself down for the night. Follow that moonbeam over there, and watch it shine down in the twilight. Somehow it reminds me of your smile, so soft and soothing, just like a bobwhite. When I searched deeply into your being, I found all of your celestial grace. Then I stared, for you are a princess, and I looked into your lovely face. I gazed into those striking gentle eyes, barely did I contain myself, as they are so dear. I touched both of them with my loving lips, but the only thing I could taste, was all of one tear. It lay so heavy upon my trembling lips, and I could sense the sorrow from your wet skin. Like a empty pond that lived in the forest, you have been totally drained, all from within. I tasted your emptiness, and now know your vacant heart, lost inside was I, from this broken love affair. Long ago I enjoyed the rapture of cockleshells and daffodils, and there were many days, when I would follow you anywhere. So once more I stare into those very damp eyes, wondering what went wrong between you and I. The flowers are all dying and so are our hearts, and all we can do is stand here, and say goodbye. I can still taste the sadness of that lingering teardrop, as it lies heavy, on still trembling lips which fear. Can't it just fall away to the ground, and then maybe you will come back, instead of the taste, of your tear? Bill Charles |

"Like an empty pond that lived in the forest you have been totally drained, from within". Beautiful way to describe the emptiness we feel as love goes away... sorry that this is a time for tears...James |

Bill~ Your tears have not gone unnoticed - 'It lay so heavy upon my trembling lips, and I could sense the sorrow from your wet skin.' Very longingly penned. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

Bill, your descriptions are so lovely ~ a soft spring rain settling down in the morning light, the wildflower bedding down for the night. Such tender, delicate, creative images with which you gift your reader. Thank you for this poignantly transcribed treasure. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |
