Why is she telling me to get up?
I've just settled down in the chair.
What does she want me to do now?
And what is she yelling 'bout hair?
Seems I am always in her way,
And nothing I do is right,
Can't she just be glad when I'm out
I don't ever get into a fight??
I seldom bring my friends home,
She would only yell at them too,
So I see them only through the day,
And that's why I have so few.
Sometimes when she's been really mad,
She'll give me a cookie and drink,
She's feeling bad for having yelled,
At least that's what I think!
I'm just a young lad still learning,
Sure I sass her once in a while,
But I always try to apologize,
By giving a big toothy smile.
And in the evening hours,
I lay with my head in her lap,
She gently strokes my golden hair,
As I take a little nap.
I guess it's not so bad 'round here,
There's food and roof o'er my head,
Now if she would just let me sleep,
Up on her soft downy bed.
But every night I'm told to get down,
She says there's not room for me,
A hundred pounds of yellow lab,
Will win someday, she'll see!

Me thinks "poor little Bo's" got it pretty good Bonnie!  Ahhh, I could read puppy poems all day if someone let me! What a great poem, I can't stop smiling. I just got a 6 year old Australian Shepherd last weekend ... and she's already stolen my heart (and my bed) ... couldn't be happier! Thanks for this warm and happy poem this morning!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Ohhhh, yeahhhh, you Bonnie lassie - this is a wonderful poem with such a neat twist - I'm still smiling.  You wrote this so well that you need not post a picture - I can clearly see your "little" sweetheart with his nose lying on the edge of your bed, eyes pleading and demanding your undivided attention.  This is truly a wonderful poem.

Bonnie this is fantastic! I can picture it all. I know about that hair too! aggh...LOL

I have a border collie/blue heeler, white with brown. She's my baby! Though only once in a while does she get on my bed, but she's sneaky about getting on my couch.

She waits until were in bed, and sleeps on the couch. LOL I only caught her once up there, but the hair left behind tells the story.  Gotta love em though!

They have their moments, but wouldn't trade em.

Ah, I had a Bobo...who resides here in memory, in Passions, somewhere in the archives...can't get along without 'em can we?

what a clever poem!!!  very cute and unexpected...still smiling in fact...

Don't care what people say
Just follow your own way
Don't give up and use the chance
To return to innocence.

Bonnie-I have seen "BO" and how you love to tease him. You should have mentioned how you make that poor "little" dog chase a laser light. You are such a tease,  "Poor Little BO is right!!!!!

Bonnie - I know posted once already, but this is one of my favorite of all time poems.  You have captured so well the love that Bo has for you.  This is one of the sweetest poem I have ever read.
