Quinella's Dream - The Finale [Part X] [Story Parts I - IX: Quinella dreamt of a Knight, and shared the vision with her mother. She asks Wizard Nor for a dreaming potion. Under its spell, Quinella's dream becomes a nightmare, which Nor recognizes, and acknowledges that Konrad will be his enemy, foretelling his arrival. Konrad comes, in search of a vision inspired by dreams. Quinella and Konrad meet; Nor states to himself his love to Quinella, and swears Konrad is his rival. A conversation ensued, the outcome is written in stone.] Wicked buzzards have landed at Wizard's feet ~ he faces Konrad and Quinella and fearfully threatens his mission to rid Quinella from the site so that he might slay Konrad, forever ridding himself of his one enemy… 'Wizard, nay! Cease thy evil recitation, and cast not thy allegations upon this Knight!' 'Maiden, cower not, yon petty man does not deposit alarm in my soul, but if thou shall take leave, only bid thy will, and grant this poor Knight to escort ye to yon hearth in safety.' 'Give over! Quinella, come hither!' 'Nay, Wizard, seize not thy sleeve, and back ye off from mine presence ~ ye've acted crudely and unrefined, a gentle man be ye not, thy presence offends all senses ~ cast thyself back to blackest cave and wither away anon.' 'Quinella, my love, come, let me see thee home, let me trek with you, make clear to you the jeopardy of the stranger…' 'Nay Wizard! Off with you, away now! Cans't thou understand thy foolish face, moonstruck tho it looks, is still a frog's face? Be away!' 'Frog's face!? Quinella, dare not you chortle further, or I shall for your break fast pour this knave's vital fluid of life into a tankard, just for your thirst, and that will be all that you shall know of him!' 'Wizard, now pray tell, why 'tis your dislike so intent upon my soul? I've not done harm to your flesh, nor your spirit, I've not preyed upon your lands, nor spilled my essence upon your trees… Sire, why for do you castigate me so?' Black eyes blazing, Wizard's voice becomes Hell itself…hot, acrid, ammoniac and demonic… 'Curse ye fool! Ye shall not know Quinella, she belongs as mine, thou art but a corpse still standing!' And drawing his sword, which instantly makes a transformation into a flashing staff of lightening streaks, Wizard Nor lunges at Konrad, after which the worst of all earthly conflicts ensue. Horrendous sounds fill the air, which has turned first red, then darkens with dusk as the two powers continue the vicious engagement, with only one to emerge the victor… bells toll thy darkest hour comes O maman he came he came to me last morningtide O maman I weep, I weep Knight's raiment of darkest cloth hid thy virtues well or did Wizard cast thy spell… O! to see thy kindest face, O Knight O dearest Konrad, once more in worship's trance shall I entreat only of you… O to reach and clutch thy cloak again, to see through yet this caliginous gloaming, and not see blood red infuse the velveteen… a voice rasps out… Quinella… Quinella….. speak thee that I may drag toward thy voice, this vision that haunts me yet entreats me, as in mid-night I behold sun's shine reach to thine ears thy voice, ah, tremulously rich, enchantingly husky, from which truly could emanate from only thy rubied lips 'neath wondrous oceanic eyes Konrad! Quinella, my dearest love, woulds't thou hold me once, truest love, let thy soft tendrils brush mine face…. Ah Moonlight, lightsome my way to thy favored Knight! Ask all of night's diamonds to brilliant the skies and allow ye, old man, to shine my way to Konrad! O beloved! O beauteous face, my dreams foretold of this embrace, staunch thy chest of blood's rush do not be cold my lips shall warm you my arms shall embrace you, my passions will bring life to thee…. O gentl'st maiden, shall my mantle so ebon enfold us both in this darkest of nights, woulds't thou e'er recognize this thy poorest of souls my sweetest maiden as your Knight thy Konrad woulds't though dream of only me? and into oceanic depths did the earthy eyes plunge, lips upon lips, and two hearts into one. I want to thank the readers of Quinella's adventures...it was my pleasure to bring this serial to Passions... Karilea When you want to be loved, look within...KRJ |

Dear Sunshine. . . This series, gentle poetess, is among the finest that I have read in the confines of these hallowed halls of Passions. . . The story of Quinella, Konrad and Nor shall go down as one of the most beautiful, most passionate and most heartfelt, heartbreaking, and heartstirring tales written. . . I can only speak for myself when I say that I awaited each new part with breathless anticipation. . . like the sweetest of the vine, so did thy words speak to us, teach us, inspire us and thrill us. . . I could go on, but this series has just been wonderful. . . and I will keep it always, and read it when the sound of hooves roars in the background and when evil stirs its ugly head. . . then in the window of my mind I shall see Konrad, his sword drawn, ready to battle the forces of evil. . . for his Quinella. . . his heart, his love. . . ------------------------------------------------------ That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |

Not fair, Not fair, Not fair! A reader screams in his corner, aloofed in pondersome thoughts Not fair, not fair, not fair, and greed gets the better of his soul .... O Poetess of the Ra, You have penned a masterpiece of masterpieces... a ten part tale, woven intricately with mystic, mythology, timelessness and panache. Your finesse shows in each of the parts... so glad that you shared this with the likes of this selfishly greedy, poetry-thirsty being... No fair not fair not fair that Sir Sven said all I wanted to say... My regards and salutations... sudhir |

Karilea - After reading all of them in a row... I want to profess my amazement. You've penned a fantastically complete tale of which I've not seen in some time. Your beautiful voice lent it an ethereal quality which breathed me through and carried me along. I am honored to have beheld such an enchanting tale. I bow as I kiss thine hand my ladye faire. Ah, and the ending is how it should be, Sunshine. thanks for steering me this way. I enjoyed Quinella's quest for her valiant Knight, even though the wicked Wizard tried his best, true love finally and everlastingly won the day. ~ Some people are like a Slinky -- not really good for anything -- but you still can't help but smile when you shove them down the stairs. ~ |
