In the space between moments

0 posted 2000-08-25 12:37 PM

Piping spawn of liquid gold
is fastened to the sky
spinning spider webs
of shimmering daybreak
into the fluttering cloak
of coming morn.

Moments laced
in puffs of periwinkle cloud
fall gently ‘round me
as lazily the sunshine floats
in pearled strings of light.

I hold you in sleepy thoughts
feeling the memories fly
through the emerald twirl
of  the willow leaves
and into the trail
of my lonely tears.

I need you now
for the tempest threatens
with ashen fingertips
blowing silvered ice
into the darkened hollows
of my being.

Time’s gateway opens
to give but a single glimpse
of your drifting silhouette
and for a second...just a second
I know you, feel you, remember you
As you once were...

The clouds recede softly
falling away from my soul
allowing the splendor of daybreak
to forever glitter within me.

Beautiful poem, sweetheart, with that hint of sadness, and a glimmering hope at the end. I especially loved the verse:

"I hold you in sleepy thoughts
feeling the memories fly
through the emerald twirl
of  the willow leaves
and into the trail
of my lonely tears."

Truly beautiful and stirring, I enjoyed this much

Krista, this was beautiful, and the imagery was gorgeous.  I especially loved:

I need you now
For the tempest threatens
with ashen fingertips
blowing silvered ice
into the darkened hollows
of my being.

I LOVE you're work.  excellent job, as always!

This was as brilliant as daybreak. Poetic muse breaks in you.
