Insomnia

A sigh is heard
Coming from my lips
As I lie here… staring
The moonlight shines
Through my window
Mocking me with
Dancing shadows
As I wait
For sleep to come.
I stare at the curtains
Swaying with the
Soft cool breeze
Of the lonely night
My body tired
Yet restless..
My mind grinding
With thoughts that
Will not leave
I wish for
A simple moment
Of peace…
Instead I toss
And I turn
Hopeful for
The sleep
That I so
Desperately await.

Right now it is 2:28 in the morning and what am I doing?  I'm reading and writing lovely poetry    Tell me am I not an insomniac myself lol.  I loved the poem as it has beautifully told of that thing I so wantonly need...sleep lol

"my love is my motivation
my love is my inspiration
perception of this poem
is your interpretation"
