Quinella's Dream - Konrad's Quest [Part VI]

[Story Parts I - V: Quinella, having dreamt of a Knight, shares the vision with her mother. To dream of him again, she visits Wizard Nor for a potion, that Quinella would dream again. Under the spell, Quinella's dream becomes a nightmare, which Nor recognizes, and acknowledges to himself that Konrad will be his enemy, and foretells his arrival…]

Great ebony steed,
arrayed in Knight's maroon
standard against
thy chilled winds

do trod on
'neath mine muscled guidance

toward this voice ~
this vision ~
that haunts me,
yet
entreats me,

as in mid-night I behold
sun's shine
and in day's morn
I espy shadows,
fearful shadows that portend
to watch my every movement

then to mine mind
comes thy voice
ah, tremulously rich
and enchantingly husky, a
voice that Jason must have heard!

and which, gods willing,
could only truly emanate from
rubied lips
'neath oceanic eyes ~

and do mind, that which is in dream,
dost thy
soft tendrils of
auburn hair brush mine
face

O Steed! I woulds't have
more than this mirage!

Thy ears prick!
Dost thou hear
that inflection of my dream?

Ah Moonlight, lightsome my way
till a comet hide from
darkness another,

I have seen thy mask
o Love,
I know thy spirit true

and I would entreat thee
O gentle spirit,

that thee, my affection of my haunting
rest with me awhile,
that I may be renewed

to follow this Quest
of mine heart,

and to capture thee,
thy spirit of
thy
voice…

once again in mine dream…

O gentl'st maiden
would thou perceive me to be
thy beacon of thy essence,

shall my mantle so ebon
enfold us both in the broadest of day
till the night's dusk befall us?

Could thy loveliest gaze seek me
and woulds't thy have admiration
for only me,
as you are only mine…

vision haunts me fine…

I have gone without e're food or wine…

intoxicatingly strong to
my senses are you

I crave no other

woulds't thou e'er recognize this
poorest of souls,
my sweetest maiden,

as your Knight,

thy Konrad…

woulds't thou dream of only me?

Sunshine. . .

To say that this series has been captivating, amazing, well-written and downright superb would be to only scratch the surface!!!

With this, you have shown us just how incredible you really are. . .

If there's any more. . . I will just pull up a chair and pitch my tent right here. . . waiting for the next one. . .

So! The brave Knight has visions of the sweet maiden and beseeches her to accept him. Not knowing, of course, that the dastardly Wizard is up to nefarious trick, potions and spells to block this stalwart Knight and the pure maiden to embrace one another. Purity from the maiden and strength from the Knight must somehow beat back the Wizard and take control of their fortunes. Ride on, O Knight, sweet dreams chaste maiden.
