Won't you lead me home tear sailor I'm afraid I've lost my way With a few more ends left to tie And a few words left to say It's been so many years now It hardly makes me cry Still, your memory brings joy to me And a tear to my eye Won't you lead me home tear sailor For the years have come and gone But time is of no consolation When you're tired from hanging on Still, I find no peace of mind No matter how I try But your memory brings joy to me And a tear to my eye -jaimie www.ladysixstring.com |

Oh, I can feel that loss, and the memory that is ever close. I too, remember and miss people from my past. And it seems as though the longing never completely goes away. Beautiful poem, the emotion came through clearly. catalinamoon Words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think. Once again, you are all so kind... thank you. This was written for my grandmother who passed away a little over a month ago. I had been toying with the title for a couple of months but had no idea where to go with it. After I got the phone call about my grandmother... I picked up my guitar and wrote this in just a matter of seconds. I still feel it needs something more... but I'm not sure what... maybe what is missing is the chance to let my grandmother hear it. -jaimie www.ladysixstring.com |
