(from 5/98 - so you don't think I'm single-tracked) The time has come the walrus said to talk of manatees Of Dodos and of redwoods and other lovely trees Of plastic wrap and soda cans the trash we leave behind While killing off the species when we're saying "never mind" There's proof now in the tree rings, global warmings more than dare And Texaco just paid again to poison the Delaware The Niki shoes so proudly worn were made in Vietnam By young girls in an atmosphere that would surely damn. So just as vigilance does prove the price of liberty So it must be the watchword for the care of ecology For everyone with offspring now we must invest two ways Financially and watchfully against pollution's craze. |

Will, this is a great message for us all to remember, too bad it is just as needed now as two years ago when you wrote it. No good changes happening that I can see. CatalinaMoon- Yes - sadly most of this troubling scene is still valid - I want to be simulltaneoussly be tied to a redwood - and on a GreenPeace Whale boat, and picketing in so many places - And All I do is contribute to those who do.~Sigh~ Martie- To call me profound - WOW - I'll have to really upscale my work now ~G~ - THank you Paula - Stick around - there's still some surprises up my sleeve. ~G~ Effigy- Thank You  Deb- It is the principal criteria on which I vote ~S~ |
