Comfort Comes Lay within me little one lay within me quiet for there outside shall come a time of unjust riot be with me o my child come and stay by my side I shall help you all along so your song shall ring wide o the years that no one knows o the years of quiet o so few that you were here before the time of riot no one knew the quiet grace e'en though they saw your face but your love was interlaced e'en though they cried… no one saw the wisdom'd words no one said they e'en heard no one pledged when the cock did crow no one then was "in the know" o my child, on cross you bore today's child has been born they think they're lost for evermore so you have yet one more chore… find the child to whom time is lost tell them, you, the cost of cross let them know in you they live and let them know your Dad forgives… *** if you know someone who should read this, please, pass it on… ©Karilea Rilling Jungel 16 August 2000 |
