Could you tell me that you love me? Even if it isn’t true... Could you let me kiss you one more time, The way you used to do? Could we sit out in the old porch swing, And watch the sun go down? Would you smile for just a little while, Instead of wear a frown? Then I’ll pack my battered suitcase- And take my blanket roll- Out from behind the sofa... Where I stashed it years ago. I’ll walk on out of your life- The way I once walked in...
