An obelisk To the sky Raised up by Bald heads With pinkish hues Men with might Hieroglyphics A code of ethics In tongues Wistful spite Here they would Praise the all Their deeds Their works Forever good And they will look To the sky That each Has under stood. The tongue The bone of force Stabbing from The shaky ground It’s sun-dried Bleached A hundred men One of each Coo and cluck Its unknown And yet this They’ve made In the image Of their own [This message has been edited by wayoutwalt (edited 08-01-2000).] |

Heavy, worthy of more than one reading if one is to understand, and grasp it's full import. "Things get complicated when you get past eighteen, and the further past eighteen you get... the more complicated they become". |

walt, this is awesome, an incredible scene you've portrayed here...with undertones that question the beginnings of belief...deep, I enjoyed this much. [This message has been edited by serenity (edited 08-01-2000).] |

The think I like most about your poetry is that I never know what to expect when I open it... could be light, heavy, deep, funny, all of the above.... but it's always good... without fail... ![]() |

Walt, it is too late for my brain to understand this so I am filing this in my library. Great poem needs a few more reads. "I am melancholy, flower cutting through stone" manic street preachers |
