Although the day is six feet under, Your perfume in the air remains And horses drag the fallen reins,-- Apollo's fallen into slumber. Their hoofs are sticking to wet leaves, The creaking carriage slowly rolls... And no one warned the sleeping souls That up ahead are rocks and reefs. The blood is frozen in their veins The night descends, their minds healing, Cold corpses lie without feeling And horses drag the fallen reins. With frenzy throwing up the curtains September rages, filled with spite... My darling, let's turn off the light We won’t awake the sleeping servants. < !signature--> Check out my poetry here: http://cafepoetry.com/stage1/andrey_kneller.htm#My%20Hamlet [This message has been edited by Master (edited 08-16-2000).] |

Master~ There is some fascinating ink in your quill ... (and that's a compliment for sure !) 'Although the day is six feet under, Your perfume in the air remains And horses drag the fallen reins,-- Apollo's fallen into slumber.' What a delight to peruse your thoughts. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
