If Iambs, or any other stresses a-scheme, are based on feet on a line, then how come we call the manner "Iambic, etc, Penta, hexa, etc-"meter"  

Shouldn't it be pentapede?                    

Or perhaps since pede is latin it should be
Iambic Quintapede.

OR, if you wished to be stranger yet you might perhaps use english ~

So then limericks would be written in Anapestic Tripede... hmmm...
