After the discussion with Ian concerning grammar, I found two articles that I thought might be interesting to everybody else. I like the distinctions this guy is making. I realize it's a bit long and most of us are limited by time constraints so I'll try to post excerpts for discussion later:

I found this article interesting as well. I'm not sure that I agree with all of his points; I'm still mulling them over.
