Lovely, good, well written, well done, wow, thoughtful, enlightening, dark, shining, forceful, soft, sensuous, erotic, exotic, fascinating. Gee, too many to list actually. Some seldom used ones?-- terrible, sucks, bad, awful, nauseating, (though I am sure Philip will get around to them if he reads enough of my poems...lol ) Jamie Tu ne cede malis, sed contra audentior ito. - Virgil. "Yield thou not to adversity, but press on the more bravely". |

Lame phrase I use "wonderful imagery"...geesh..and I have a hard time (no pun intended) to say something uplifting(no pun intended) about the poetry in Adult..you know you can only read so much erotica before you run out of things to say!!! LOL |

Firstly - K is gobsmacked: An admittance... don't ever use crystal again C...EVER...I could mention blue in certain contexts for you also. Me...I get stuck sometimes...with what to say - I absolutely refuse to gush on the forums...so I guess my replies might sometimes sound dry. Nauseating could be fun - hey Jamie - mind if I use that on your next poem....??? Replete with over used words too... HAHA... An example: 'Jamie, this poem is nauseating, an ABSOLUTELY appalling attempt at poetry using classic rhetoric and overdone themes...a MASTERPIECE of cliche! WOW! (There's a big one I am trying very hard to avoid unless I really did say wow out loud...) I am really IMPRESSED. INSPIRED even... You have MOVED me so much I am stationary in my seat with TEARS IN MY EYES - at the impact this complete drivel has had on my HEART. OH JAMIE WILL I EVER BE THE SAME? Oh btw - this sucks. NICE work.' Whaddya think? Will it go down well? I am excrutiatingly guilty of the 'well done' syndrome. My verbal steak is a little piece of fried leather...languishing on the rubbish tip... So - what is the solution? I mean - there are only so many adjectives aren't there? We could use other languages! We could...INVENT words (I like that idea...) We could have a weekly Passion's antonym day...just to be different... Sigh Or we could go on using the overused... lol K The wind shifts like this: Like a human without illusions... This is how the wind shifts: Like a human, heavy and heavy, Who does not care. W.S |

Since we're alone here (we are right?) I'll tell you that some of these words are being used right now..as we speak..only they are MISSPELLED words. So some may think our 'new and improved' words are just misspelled!!! Now..go to your dictionaries....find some new words!! NOW....list them here.. We need words that can be used to describe poetry here (and NO it can't be a 'c' word that rhymes with tap!) Note to Jamie: We pick on you 'cause YOU don't whine when we do!! |

severn, Thank-you, you are very gnathonic to tell me so! I just want you all to know that I love coming to this phrontistery, since like you, I am of the scribacious sort. The only concern that I have is that I may be developing limophotios if I keep this up much longer! |

More words ala Jamie... who 'forgot' to write them down while putting them together over ICQ Now: I don't have the fancy origins...but they all spring from Latin and whatnot... Vervac = empty of truth (sheesh - I can see this being used a lot Vidvitvoc = [the poem/story] gives voice and vision to life Senssoph = full of wisdom I totally phillaud these... Cheers J! I am completely guilty of the overuse of AWESOME... but then I use it equally as much in conversation... believe it or not, my verbiage here is synonymous with my everyday conversation... I'm a total pain in the butt to hang out with.... Ask my kids - They carry a dictionary around with them... and only visit on Sundays....and then only for a couple of hours in the afternoon.... I don't know about here on the forums, but if I have to correct another essay that says "I liked this book SO much, because..... I'm taking the word "so" out of the dictionary... officially... |

I like the phrase 'repliers block'..that's where I am now..if a poem or story doesn't touch me personally, what can I say? I think that is why these 'new words' are so cool!! |

For anyone interested in unusual words, there is a great web site called, Forthright's Phrontistery International House of Logorrhea http://www.freespeech.org/forthright/ I think it is a eellogofusciouhipoppokunurious - (good) place to add new words to your vocabulary! |

Is this not all so BEAUTIFUL to simply suggest that there are so many VERY BEAUTIFUL people, and to think that I might actually want to say these words that THIS IS a VERY BEAUTIFUL place, VERY PASSIONATE, VERY LOVELY, VERY EXOTIC, AND VERY, VERY BRILLIANT (of course that was reserved for Janet and so were all synonyms of BEAUTIFUL for Liz) and so on and so forth... and then Jamie decided to SULK into his crater of volcanic thoughts, thinking up of strange adjectives to use with Chris and Kamla and they come up with such abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz words like such a RIFF-RAFF poetry, talking of PIRATES (read poets) in love (read bluff) and of the rest in HATE (read indifferent state).... and blah blah all this when all I wanted to say is I LOVE THIS PLACE.... ... all I need is some AWESOME uplifting (and ABSOLUTELY no pun intended)... (now where were we again??? ) hmmmm..... you know what I'm saying??? ... forget about it.... (remember Mr. Brasco) regards, sudhir |

It's not the strength of yarn we use or whether it's mundane it's what we weave that in the end will show our final grade For words like salivating, servitude and dispensation rolls if woven on a broken loom it comes out as... well... Doggerel I guess I get an F for that.. Huh? lol killed my Buddha, killed my Christ |
