The Board Game Of Our Lives

Where does one begin on the board game
of our lives?
Well, there's four sharp corners
by which to identify,
one of them is happiness designed
in color yellow,
another one is sadness designed
in pale gray.
Then there's devastation designed
in color black,
last but not least is hanging out designed
in a purist of white.
There's miscellaneous colored squares
along the way
with different opportunities and struggles
to deal with.
Some we choose and some come
chosen for us.
The objective of the board game
of our lives
is to reach the yellow sharp corner
of happiness
as many times as you can to reach a level
of tranquility.

ah....
the white corner?
now why didn't anyone
explain this before???
I have spent much too much time
in the black
and the grey...
must be time to roll the dice
and moooove....

great poem

~Gloria

I was hooked on this poem right from the title! I loved the way you expressed the "game" of life in this! Your talent shines through!

Munda: Thank You very much, I'm glad you loved it.

Corazon: Thank You, I think we all spend to much time on those two squares, you made me think with your reply that I should have ended the poem with: It's your turn.

Aimster: Thank You very much.

Denise Thank You kindly, This one was fun.

Now I know what's wrong with me, I always pick black!  At least now I know what to look for.  Seriously, a very interesting perspective, Gloria.  Wopnderful poem.
