An emblem of love Found in the Provence of Hoband, Within a grave of rock and sand. A pendant jewel of gold and jade, A face from heaven an artist made. Sun struck the stone transmits a scene, The bluest blue, the greenest green. Of slanted eyes in modest frown. Beneath a small and golden crown. A delicate nose lay exposed, Between soft cheeks of high impose. A mouth shaped and pursed a petal, Epitomizing oriental. Hallowed within a rim of gold, To be worn by a king of old. An emblem of his love and power, A symbol of the loving hour. And the symbol lives with us today, But in a much, much different way. |

Sy, To be buried in an earthen grave Surely was an act of cruel But the words you write have proved Your poetry lovelier than the jewel This is beautiful Liz |

Beautiful Sy Did Jesus laugh? I think He did, 'cause He was once a little kid; and all of us were made with joy both sugar-spice girl and snake-snail boy! |

Sy, Another excellent piece of work. Whenever I take a moment to prowl though Passions I find your work on page one. And with obvious good reason. fh |

Sy, you've become quite a master at setting the scene for your reader in the main stanzas - then wrapping your poem up beautifully in your couplet/signature..... Very nice, indeed... |
