Song and Dance **************** I see you in the moonlight You smile and wave your hand I close my eyes and turn away You were always one of the damned Why did you do it? I want to scream Couldn't you let me be? Now things are different; things have changed It's all so clear to see Whistle your tunes and ring your bells I've learned nothing in life is free Forget those plans you've already made It's all a song and dance to me You yanked me around and sent me to hell I swam in your bottomless pool You may have fooled me, but you can't fool the devil 'Cause the devil--he ain't no fool No more; no more! I scream aloud I'm not your little puppet I've cut my strings; I'm free of you I owe you no more debts So call my name and wink your eye I've learned nothing in life is free Just think twice before you speak It's all a song and dance to me Use her then lose her Was your plan from the beginning And for a while, just a while, You seemed to be winning Not anymore! I cry happily I broke free of your chains With one last glance, I shake my head And laugh as you dance in the drowning rain So dance your dance and signal me over I've learned nothing in life is free I fell once already; I won't fall again It's all a song and dance to me. |

Rex~that's the kind of message I was trying to convey. Marge~I wrote this poem a few years ago after one of my ex's broke up with me...this was the only way I could think of to get back at him at the time (and it was cheaper and legal, too! LOL). Thanks for the compliment. Bobbycat =^..^= |
