I wrote this with Hoot in mind... On Broken Wing On broken wing the dove still flies though not to foreign lands, she can’t venture quite as far, somehow she understands. She sits upon a windowsill, or on a lone high wire, senses something missing like some internal fire. Although it may be innate this drive to become a pair, with broken wing and lost heart she still does not despair. For somewhere out there, her perfect mate does call, on fluttering wings he soars just as autumn starts to fall. © 2000 Corinne Bailey |

Oh Corinne...this is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for writing this with me in mind. To think that I inspired this in any way makes me feel really good. What a wonderful poem |

I agree, it's a lovely poem. Applause to you! "Glory remains unaware of my neglected dwelling where alone I sing my tearful song which has charms only for me." -Charles Brugnot |

Corinne~ Our little hoot is befriended therefore her broken wing will be mended. How thoughtful and caring for thinking of her. She's a little bird worth caring about. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Hoot won't be a hurtin' owl for long - she's much too wise.... Owl bet she's back aloft in the blink of an eye... Nice work, Corinne... |

Lovely, lovely, lovely - a poem of flight indeed... (and fittingly inspired by our Hoot) K 'Writing sharpens life; life enriches writing' Sylvia Plath |

May time will heal this broken wing May in time the dove will sing A song of love and full of passion As to write such poem is a beautiful possession Loved it The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |
