No more puddles.
Stay out of rain.
No sunshine either,
it only causes pain.

Don't run.
Hurry up.
What's the matter?
Hush up.

Wipe your face.
Sit up straight.
Eat the ugly
green things you hate.

Stop fighting.
Settle down.
Lately all you do
is frown.

As I read
these words I've written--
a spark of understanding...
it's no wonder
they don't listen
I am so demanding.

If these words should please you,
send me your money please.
I'll be needing every cent
to pay for therapy!

Don't be so hard on yourself...the job of being a mother is the most difficult, yet most underpaid job of them all hun!!!!When they're grown...they'll love ya even more for it and tell their kids the same thing!

I hope this doesn't hurt your feelings
but from the first line to the last ...I couldn't stop laughing ... then I read it again and it was just as funny as before

sorry

Serenity, sounds like you've been to my house! We all go through this, some days I'm Super Mom, some days well you can guess the other title! I call my parents and apologize about once a week for things I did when I was a kid, because I just took a walk in their shoes with my kids. Then we laugh and I feel like I'm not such a bad Mom. Hang in there!!! -SEA

This was hilarious serenity, I had a slight smile on my face, up till the last stanza, which did me in   Excellent work.

I am not a poet, I am merely one who speaks in emotion

What a great look at motherhood. I sense a tired exasperation, full of love and mostly good humor. Like I said, motherhood!

Serenity~
Bought my ticket.
Took the ride.
My memories are laughing
deep inside.

Wonderfully nostalgic
to this mom.

I too was laughing while rading this, only because I know the routine all too well LoL.  Though not to my own kids yet (thankfully)....But to agree, dont be so hard on yourself.

Just be glad I'm not your child! *evil grin*

I have been cleaning house and have some change I found under the bed if you still need it, Karen.

This made me smile.
