At midnight, the mourner’s bell tolls, Resounding, each and every stroke Foretelling news of my own doom A dozen times, and my heart froze One Two Three Still time to escape undamaged, Legs, as useless as some baggage Lost and forgotten, like the rest of me Now my mind, my mind unhinged Four Five Six Like a nail in the coffin, each note pounds, Into finality, fading with the sound An echo never to be disturbed again Until the upheaval of the uttermost ground Seven Eight Nine Time left, to take one more dream, To open, my darkest sight to eternity This night could not possibly end Or so it leads me to believe Ten Eleven Twelve |

Oh, the bells, bells, bells...reminded me of Poe! Spooky and well done, JML. Elizabeth "He have his goodness now. God forbid I take it from him!" -The Crucible |

Elizabeth - Poe! I love Poe. But I hope this wasn't too close to his, (even though he does have a poem about bells), he is just entrenched in me so deeply. Thanks. SEA - What can I say? You always seem to inspire me to write better. Thank you for always reading these. Cerenity - You can bring doom if you want, thanks. |
