Dark shadows dance in glowing embers, Crackling whispers, forgotten places, Upon stone hearth, as night remembers, Memories past in caldron's faces. Curling wisps of pugent fingers, By unseen hand, up flue are taken, Left behind as smoke's scent lingers, Forgotten times, blaze doth awaken. In blackened coals of long doused fire, Ghosts of time remain unburied, In dormant slumber, 'neath fiery spires, Eternally in ash are carried. Past and present, one the same, Mesmerized by siren's flame. [This message has been edited by Mike (edited 02-19-2000).] |

Oh, I liked the feel of this Mike. Steeped in time and mystery and a little frightening, and all the sensory feelings drew a perfect picture. Very well done! |

A mesmerizing piece of writing...darkened intrigue smoldering within the stone hearth of the night. |

Mike~ Very intimate and loving piece. Much too pretty to escape so quickly. Back to the top for others to enjoy. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
