(here's looking to seeing you both fly in the near future Hugs to you both, Ruth) She Flies With Her Own Wings For many years, he held her back He told her not to dream He was like a river wild She like a gentle stream She craved for love and happiness But kept it all inside Spent her days in quiet fear Tethered by his side She watched the sky with wishful eyes And dreamed of when she'd fly Cried herself to sleep at night As life just passed her by Caged by lifes own cruelty She was captured in his grasp While he raised his hands in anger Hers in prayer she clasped One day her prayers were answered For she left him far behind Released the chains of hurt and hate And all the ties that bind Now she flies with her own wings In skies pearlescent white Loosed from the bounds of all her fears She soars in graceful flight Where she lands will still be seen The worlds an open slate She'll write a story all her own For now she holds her fate At last she's free, no longer caged And no matter where she'll roam Those injured wings, now greatly healed Will guide her safely home Have you ever noticed That the words... "Goodbye" "I'm sorry" "I love you" Are so easy to pronounce ...Yet so hard to say ~Javan |

Thanks for reposting this, Ruth. This is one of my favorites of yours. I felt when reading this the first time that it could have been written about my life. I guess there are many of us who share the same past. Flying is so wonderful, isn't it?! Denise |

This is a great poem. I love the truth and meaning in it. Grant that I may not judge my niegbor until I have walked a mile in his moccasians Native American prayer |

Although I know this one inside out I still read and I still say "Wow" Hugs and love The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |

Thank you everyone One Day I'll Soar I may never fly On graceful wing Or voice my song Like robins sing Or know the secrets Revealed in flight In heavens dark On starry night I may never know What wings are for But mark my words One day I'll soar |

Most excellent piece. And your reply was just as lovely! Good job "Glory remains unaware of my neglected dwelling where alone I sing my tearful song which has charms only for me." -Charles Brugnot |
