Rose red sanctity
of your candy-sweet kisses
brings me to my knees.

It might be worship.
It might be devotion.
It is my prayer.

Worship with me then,
honey lips at my altar -
breathe my confession.

Thank you Severn. I wrote this so spontaneously I hesitated to post it but the more I read it the more I like it, especially for what it DOESN'T say, the pauses that make the music if you know what I mean. Anyway, I am glad others are enjoying it too.

Hi Beki, you have my first ever reply, and I must say this is a jewel. The shorter ones always seem to say so much more! I LOVED the last stanza.

Beki, nicely written with such a sensitive, soulful touch.  You must have been sitting on the beach when you wrote it.  Lucky Lady!

Glorfindel, I am flattered to be your first ever response, and more glad that you liked the poem

Danny thanks for your nice comments...not on the beach but certainly within view of the harbor
