Just yesterday, my life was great And all was going fine Until someone reminded me Today was Valentine's ... From there, the downward spiral launched -- (Depression setting in) – For I will be alone on this Accursed day – again. Oh, I can scoff at all the fuss, "Commercial crap," I groan, But sarcasm can't fill the space That lurks when you're alone ... Nor can it speed the crawling hours That seem to pass so slow – So typical -- they linger when You want them most to go. To all of you who have someone You call your Valentine – I hope you love your holiday As much as I hate mine! Full fathom five thy father lies, Of his bones are coral made, Those are pearls that were his eyes; Nothing of him that doth fade But doth suffer a sea-change Into something rich and strange... --William Shakespeare, from The Tempest |

I would that I were in your shoes, Expectation never leading If but by mere poetic reviews Somehow my heart would not be bleeding. But such is the way of the world, Where true love's a novelty, a token. As looking upon fate unfurled, Seems true hearts are to be broken. Happy Valentine's Kess, even so. Michael |

People alone on Valentine's Day is a harsh reality; I know a lot of people who loathe the coming of the 14th of February with all their heart, including me. But it makes you cherish the one who is your Valentine whenever he or she gets there. And probably the best thing is when you know that friends count as Valentines because it is the Day of Love, is it not? And friendship is a love. *hugs* Bonne Saint Valentin! Amité, doux repos de l'âme. [translation: Friendship, sweet resting place of the soul.] Hope the bitterness goes away, for everyone, including this girl who still can't get over the pain of Valentine's Day. ~Astraea "Sometimes stars can only be seen in darkness." "Sorrow's crown of sorrow is remembering happier things." |

Michael, it sounds to me like you need a drink. Or several. I'm buying -- have a bucket ready here too, we'll have to take turns. LOL I guess you have me beat, my friend, you are definitely more depressed than I. Just an observation, however -- IMHO, true love is ALWAYS worth whatever risk (even having your heart broken a few times) it might entail to find it. You will heal, and given that you are persistent, it will some day be yours. This too shall pass .. --Kess |

You´re not alone. Today is not only full of love, it´s filled with hate as well. Some are on their own and some are away from being alone, and some holds special cases like "my girlfriends mother is keeping her in jail and away from me." culture shock stuffs. This day is almost outta here, so just hang in there and I´ll hang in here! Greetings -C- |

I know this does not fill the need But you have lots of Valentines indeed Just look around you see them here Just look behind you there are there Valentine is poor as love It could be on your roof...see there is a Dove The cat coming around the corner The ray of sun shining ever warmer A song sung by a choir You wrote a sad, but good poem Syfyre The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |

Now I tried to be very positive in my Valentine's post for the day (sickenly so) But I'm finding I'd rather join your party, Kess! I'm coming out of the happy closet today- and agree with you. Valentine's sure does suck. My calendar next year will not include number 14 in February. Oh - that would be a rum and coke for me, please. Or two or ten. Cheers! |

Tequila to-kill-ya of all feelings of loneliness! That's my prescription! Take two of these, (fifths,) and call me in the afternoon...(the hangover'll be killing you or I'd say to call in the morning...) Valentine's sucks!!! Down with Valentine's day!!! |
