I went to the lumber store, To buy myself a two-by-four, Found a piece of fresh cut pine, Tied it to my car with twine. When I got home, did twine untie, For the first time, then did spy, A knot. I'd bought a piece of knotty pine, Now I'm knot one whose prone to whine, But knotty pine, it just don't work, You might think is just a quirk, It's knot. I drove back to lumber store, Said I want this pine no more, May I have my money back, And put this board back in wood stack? The clerk replied, it's your tough luck, With knotty pine, you now are stuck, Its knot Out problem, you should have looked, Before you bought, your goose is cooked. Cooked goose I yelled, you stupid clerk, I'm knot a chef, you ignorant jerk. Was kicked out of the lumber store, So home I went with two-by-four. I guess I'll keep my knotty pine, It did no good to fuss and whine, While maybe knot best wood I've had, My knotty pine, it's knot so bad, It's knot. Well, of course, you know me - I read this as "naughty" pine! LOL This was fabulous! Gave me a good chuckle too! You are talented, and so very uh...broad in your talents! Great variety you offer! That's what I was trying to say.... ![]() |

(giggling uncontrollably) And here I was expecting something serious and classic -- this was precious, Mike -- thanks for the smile. --Kess Full fathom five thy father lies, Of his bones are coral made, Those are pearls that were his eyes; Nothing of him that doth fade But doth suffer a sea-change Into something rich and strange... --William Shakespeare, from The Tempest |
