A Time to Heal

‘Tis said to ev’ry thing in life
               there is a season --
An object in that grand design
               that frames creation --
Our ev’ry step falls closer to
               our destination,
Each obstacle required, though we
               may miss the reason.
With such philosophies at heart,
               we suffer, willing:
Believing darkest night may break
               to bright tomorrow;
We dream in shades of happiness
               while cloaked in sorrow,
And smiling, starve, in search of that
               we think fulfilling.
We thusly wander, starry-eyed,
               expectant, thinking
To shape the passing of our lives
               with this endeavor,
Unmindful that, in eyes whose scope
               have seen forever,
Our journey’s span cannot outlast
               a single blinking;
We pass the days with broken hearts --
               tormented, beating
So slowly toward becoming whole,
               the hours crawling,
We miss the chance to fly once more
               for fear of falling,
While Time moves on, in which our part
               is swift and fleeting.
And so, for you, whose lonely road
               has seemed unending,
I pray as quickly fell the blow,
               so goes the healing;
That once again your wings may know
               the soaring feeling
That follows when the heart has passed
               its time of mending.
The dawn will break, with no regard
               for how you face it:
So choose to face the rising sun,
               in heaven glowing
And she will love you endlessly,
               her gifts bestowing
On he who dared to dream, and had
               the will to chase it!

 Full fathom five thy father lies,
Of his bones are coral made,
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange...

Skyfyre~
This is a lovely and thougtful
gesture for your friend.

My favorite line is ...

'The dawn will break, with no regard
                 for how you face it'

How very beautiful.

Kess,
     this is great!!  You have been doing well lately my friend. . . methinks that the muse is firing again.

This was an excellent poem, I hope that your words spoke to your friend as they spoke to me. . .

The style of this poem is what initially captured my interest. Though after reading I must say I now like the content even better. My favorite line is "We dream in shades of happiness while cloaked in sorrow". I can really relate. Very powerful! Good work!
