~ Forbidden Drink ~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thick green meadows lay below
with weeping willow trees
Crisp new air blew soft around me,
barefoot in the breeze...
Lush foliage blooming everywhere
I wandered in too deep
Your fragrance there, upon the air
pure chivalry so sweet...
I heard your whisper through the trees
a voice so nigh of haunting
Yet calling to me - beckoning
my spirit trembled, daunting...
I stopped, and as I looked about
the leaves swirled 'round my feet
They danced as if to beckon me
my gaze & yours to meet...
Your laughter pure, came echoing
'twas then I saw your smile
And those eyes so pale of
crystal blue
this search for you worthwhile...
You brushed your hair so soft, aside
you took my breath away
The sunlight shimmering on your skin -
a dream here in midday...
You stepped out from the willows
as you took me by the hand
But still you had not spoken -
this I could not understand...
You led me through a thicket
which revealed a hidden gate
A secret entry nestled there -
this finding - our's by fate.
Once inside, I stood in awe -
at what mine eyes did see,
An exquisite little garden
blooming feverishly for me...
A carpet of
rose petals
stretched as far as eye could see -
With daffodils and hollyhocks -
you turned & reached for me...
With honeysuckle kisses
velvet lips crushed down on mine -
Your mouth was sweet like morning dew
intoxicating wine...
You stole my breath, my heart was faint
you held me in your arms
Your mouth, it drank so deep of me -
transfixed by your charms...
You drank of me - and drank of me
I lay a wilted flower
There upon your
bed of roses
overcome by all your power...
You lay beside me tenderly
a tear rolled down your face -
Like lovers e'er forbidden
there we died in sweet embrace...
It was because I was a vampire, and a very good wine you were just like this little poem. That's what I like to hear from a woman "Drink of Me", who am I to argue.
Lovely poem.  Great imagery.  Loved the intimacy, as though I could here him breathing along side you.  Your sweat and his mixing, becoming one, as you two were, with one sweet embrace.
but I'll leave now...cause 3's a crowd... unless of course your into that scene...
err forget I said that LOLJ/K...I'll just hide over here in the bushes and take notes...
I bet I run into a few people I know  LOL
later, jm
 Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.
 "The storm rises up when the shadows descend
every beat of my heart every day without end
I will stand like a rock I will bend till I break
till theres no more to give if thats what it takes
I will risk everything I will fight I will bleed
I will lay down my life if thats what you need
every second I live thats the promise I make"
I have no idea who wrote this... tell me if you know. =)
This really isn't a vampire tale !  I promise!  He didn't drink of her blood like Parker said -
He truly kissed her deeply on the mouth, thus drinking of her, in that way.  When they kissed passionately, they both died, for it was a forbidden love...although, they took the chance for just one kiss.  (batting eyes...)  No blood drinking in MY romance stories!  hehehe
I just want to say how humbled I am at all your rave reviews!     I'm really not worthy.  This poem was really hard for me to write...I stumbled around with it for over 2 hours.  It's a very intimate piece for me to share, as it was written about someone in my past, who I don't even talk to anymore...alas, he inspires me to write of "love" that just couldn't be.  No matter how far he wanders, to me, he is a dear friend.  I've not been "bitten", nor have I forgotten what color your fabulous eyes are, WhiteNite...(how could I?)....*sigh*.....Just wanted to write something a little magical, and find some closure to the tale...Thank you, as it too, is one of my own most favorite pieces.  Love you guys!!  You're all so dear to me!   -poetFemme
