But on second thought……

Aren’t you the one
That left me broken-hearted
Leaving me shattered
So a new life I started

But on second thought….
Maybe in your arms
Is where I belong
Perhaps all this time
I’ve been wrong

But on second thought….
We did have troubles
As couples often do
We could bring out the worst in each other
You know, that is true

But on second thought….
I really did love you
With every part of my being
Maybe this really is you
The NEW you I’m seeing

But on second thought
I can’t forget
Why I said goodbye
The pain you caused me
Clipping my wings, never letting me fly

But on second thought….

Very good, Marina!
This is something that we often go through when we have to let go of someone we love.  Your words ring true to the very core of my heart.  Very imoressive.....I like this one!

Marina,
Very touching poem...We all have second thoughts when it comes to love and old flames
Just follow your heart (cautiously)

Marina this is lovely.  But on second thought it is precious.  Exactly the feelings I have been experiencing for the last year or so over a past relationship.  The second thought concerning the pain always wins the battle.
Keep writing beautiful message filled poems like this...I need them.    James

Be careful of those second thoughts

Marina-girl...
seems to me you've already made your decision...your last several poems have been showing your strength...
this one says a lot too of your reservations... we do second guess our hearts dont we...the see-saw of love...
Im no one to give advice...
I always follow my heart...fall on my face
a lot too(smile)
sometimes we learn all our lessons the hardway...several times
take care, stay strong

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

Marina,
I think that you've made your decision too. . . but you can't second guess yourself... you have to go with what's in your heart. . . and find the strength to follow through.. . you can do it, I know... this poem says it all. . .

Oh man...the story of my life!  You too, 'eh?
Why is it so hard to separate our emotional thinking from our rational thinking?  I never can decide which one rules!  My head or my heart, which one knows best....?  (sigh)  Hang in there girl...and yes, take your time!  No rush!

Nice writing Marina.  On second thought, it was better than nice, it was excellent.
Think we all have those second thoughts at one time or another.  Probably a good thing!

Marina, I think there is something about the style of this one that I really like. Its the way you used the title in every verse and made it a perfect ending. Your skill is improving at lightspeed.
