CHARMED

Silent, in darkness, all alone.
What lied within, not to be shown.
I built my shell, complete and whole,
That none outside would see my soul.

The pain of lifelong disregard,
A cocoon of emotion grown hard.
You dared to touch me, dared to shine
The light of your life unto mine.

A wealth of warmth, love in a smile,
You made me see life worth the while.
Broke down the wall of bitter pride,
Somehow found beauty deep inside.

A sun, now, shining over me,
Adjusted eyes can finally see...
Through all your thoughtfulness and caring,
Life, indeed, is meant for sharing.

So as toward my dreams I ascend,
I'll ever give you thanks, my friend.
Because of you my heart now sings,
Free to fly on butterfly wings.

Absolute perfection! There was always goodness and beauty within Michael. Sometimes through our pain and tragedies we hide it though. I'm glad it's come to the surface again!

~Wings To Fly~

Butterflies are meant to be free,
as are the hearts of poets...
like you...like me.
You were always beautiful...
there in your quiet cocoon.
Your light ...  always there...
equal to the sun and moon.
Tired eyes have to adjust to the light...
it takes time to come out from the silence of night.
Angels of love ...
gave you butterfly wings,
and like a dove, your heart now sings.
Seeing you like this...
makes our hearts glow.
We love seeing you charmed...dont ya know.
This poem makes us all smile,
you've now charmed us...
with your poetic style.
I've always known inside of me...
you were a butterfly --
just waiting to be free.
Love gives us all our wings to fly...
take flight now our dear friend...
hearts soaring towards heaven and sky.
jm

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

My My Michael,

When I was reading your poem you were right on top of passions flower but when I returned you had fallen down from the bower. By time I found you, you were heading down for the count, so I thought I should give you a little bounce.

Michael, your soul soars beautifully with color and clarity of light...go forth and continue to share your goodness all the day.

Thank you very much for this, my friend...and thank you for being you.

This is gorgeous, Michael.  There has always been beauty inside of you, you just needed to set it free.  Fly now, m'friend...and fly high.

Rebecca, I smiled today for the first time in I don't know how long...  Indeed, it sure felt good.

Sunshine, you have everything to do with the "sun shining over me" here.  You friendship has been wonderful for me of late.  I can't thank you enough.

Jeffrey - did you know GOD spelled backwards is dog?  I think I'm more comfortable with that analogy... Thanks my friend, you give me too much honor.

Janet, as always, your words are taken to heart.  TY

Lucky, thanks for the bump...LOL

Satiate,  you have been a true best friend to me.  Thank you for always helping me to maintain focus while allowing me to be true to my emotion and above all, for ALWAYS being there.

Thank you everyone for the kind replies.

Michael

reading it - obviously straight from the

No Micheal I meant exactly what I said

I don't think there is one person in this entire forum who wouldn't give their right arm to be able to write with such vision, such exquisite detail. Just to be able to express our inner most feelings the way you do. Words can not describe the absolute beauty of your writing. You are on a level playing field with any poet in history ( just my opinion) but I'm sure most will agree

This is gorgeous, my friend.  Light and lovely...it's nice to know that there are a few special people in life that one can rely on.  Beautiful words.

Jeffery is right Michael, your stuff is awe inspiring. I keep running out of superlatives trying to respond to your poems, because anything less would be an insult to your skill.

This was a bloom in a vase that belongs in the sunshine in front of my window. There.....it's there in a vase, and it's not as beautiful as this poem, but I think I see a butterfly longing to rest upon it.
