Where were you? |

I wrote this one in high school (about an eon ago). Where were you? Where were you when I needed you Or when I was scared? You weren’t here when I called for you Although you said you cared. Where were you when I laid in bed Crying myself to sleep? How do I heal my shattered heart When wounds are cut this deep? Where were you when I craved your touch, Ached to see your face? I drifted off in dreamless sleep, Pillow in my embrace. Where were you during those times When I needed you near? I don’t know where you were But you sure as hell weren’t here. |

I really like this one.. espeically that ending. Very nice. "The storm rises up when the shadows descend every beat of my heart every day without end I will stand like a rock I will bend till I break till theres no more to give if thats what it takes I will risk everything I will fight I will bleed I will lay down my life if thats what you need every second I live thats the promise I make" I have no idea who wrote this... tell me if you know. =) |

Ruth, yeah, I've never been one to beat around the bush. One of my better qualities, I think. Jeffrey, thank you. It hurts when people don't keep the promises they made. Denise and Whitenite, thanks for reading! It matters not how strait the gate; How charged with punishments the scroll; I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul. --W.E. Henley |

Tara - very well expressed, and I can relate! I was not very popular in high school. My father can remember me trying to get a date for a school dance, once. I had to call 14 girls before one said "yes." I wore my heart on my sleeve, so I could really relate to this poem. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, and I hope things are better now! ROFL@Balladeer. Gee, thanks! And here I thought I had touched him with my words. You had to burst my bubble, didn't you? hsystems, sounds like this was a painful trip down memory lane for you. Sometimes it's only when we look at where we started that we truly see how far we've come. butterflies_don't_cry, thank you. This was (as you guys probably guessed) originally written for my first love, but as I recalled the poem and typed it up, it occurred to me that it also applies to my mother (who died when I was very young). |
