The man of wishes came to me,
He said "What is it you desire?"
To my own surprise and new-found fear
my tounge was plauged with fire.

My thoughts, serene, or so I thought,
exploded with winds and scattered rain.
Clearness of mind snuck out the back;
in short, I became insane.

Desire and need began to clash,
leaving me just a bit quesy.
It is here I  remembered, not a bit too soon,
that choosing is never easy.

So as the gift of wishes and wants
remained ticking and tocking in greed,
I found I was standing alone with myself
still questioning what I might need.

It is only when the hour is short,
only when fate makes us choose,
that we really know what we don't really know
is all that we're ready to lose.

Grant that I may not judge my niegbor until I have walked a mile in his moccasians

Native American prayer

The stars shine so bright, now's the time
I close my eyes - soft wind touch my face,
Cool sand upon the place where I once kissed you
And held you close.
Now I will reach for the stars...
Because Oh my love, that's where you are...
Though the storms of black night rage on
I still see your face
I still feel your lips on mine
And though my heart feels all alone without you
I still hear you sing to me
I still hear your voice on the sea...
