Strip away the dirt from me That always holds me down Wash me clean completely Let the ashes fall to the ground Give comfort from your arms Shelter from the cold wind blowing With unbound hope and whispered charms Renew blood that had stopped flowing Better to feel pain from stricken heart Than to laugh instead of cry Better to let things run their course Than to feel dead instead of alive One touch is all that is needed Upon the heart, death defeated |

Give comfort from your arms Shelter from the cold wind blowing With unbound hope and whispered charms ---------------- One touch is all that is needed Upon the heart, death defeated --------------- *sigh* perfect poem jer, rich in your constant depth of emotions. yes, a touch from anothers heart...is all thats needed to find comfort and shelter. stalking you always, your jm The stars shine so bright, now's the time I close my eyes - soft wind touch my face, Cool sand upon the place where I once kissed you And held you close. Now I will reach for the stars... Because Oh my love, that's where you are... Though the storms of black night rage on I still see your face I still feel your lips on mine And though my heart feels all alone without you I still hear you sing to me I still hear your voice on the sea... vertical horizon |

I liked this very much, JML. The last two lines said so much. Elizabeth "He have his goodness now. God forbid I take it from him!" -The Crucible |

Covered in dirt and ashes, 'eh? Sounds like we've fallen through the same chimney pipe...(sigh) I think my pipe is longer than yours though. LOL Very nice poem sir, as always. After you're all cleaned up, care to hose me down too? LOL |

Click***....there goes the sound of the hose connecting...preparing to turn the valve, slow at first, then to wide open. Water, water everywhere...*L* |

I love your "Renew blood that had stopped flowing" line. This piece shows a beautiful vulnerability, you know. You've slipped the words together just so. Thank you for the gifting. ~ Claire |
