How and why By a sorcery of power, He wiles away the hour, Escaping thought the mundane day, With an apathy display. Watches all with jaundiced eye, Every little thing goes by, Sorting out each best of kind, Fixed within a focused mind. Files them in a memory sense, For later view and dispense. Gold and silver treasures all, To be there, when need did call. Then he sprawls his favorite chair, Summoning up some instant fair, And smiles away the passer by And drifts into a dreamers lie. There unfolds his muse of day And with his love he sails away. |

Now I will reach for the stars... Because Oh my love, that's where you are... Though the storms of black night rage on I still see your face I still feel your lips on mine And though my heart feels all alone without you I still hear you sing to me I still hear your voice on the sea... vertical horizon |

So you're the guy out in front of Walmart who just sits and watches the world go by. I always wondered what he did when he went home. He writes great poetry. I never would have guessed it! A fine read here Mr. Tabin... as always I bow to you and yours. |

A wonderful poem, Sy. You make doing nothing somehow sound so purposeful. But I liked the sailing away part. There's nothing you can't do in your imagination. Liz |

"There unfolds his muse of day And with his love he sails away." I am so glad, Sy, that you didn't leave your lady-love behind on this wonderful little journey. Sunshine Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |

Excellent as always Sy. . . sometimes, we have to go searching for our muse. . . but even if we don't find it, the time spent in wiling can yield great words. . . Great poem!! -------------------------------------------------------------- That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |
