Once we wedded separate lives, inciting utter abandon, cyclical as summer rip tides, twin surfers of alien oceans. Ibeza’s sun in cloudless skies, not stirring tourmaline seas, no breezes to beckon linen sails, cooling wine with wild strawberries. Candelabras our only light, mooncalf shadows of absurdity, reading to me from olden books, classics and cryptic poetry. Harvesting garden vegetables, hand making corn tortillas, killing the chickens without names, inviting friends to our rustic villa. Hanging painted paper lanterns, sonorous music of friends, although we were growing older, we believed love never ends. The party lasted all night long, until the sizzling sun rose high, you lay upon our bed to sleep, left me here as your body died. It lived in me like a memory, recurring dream of wishful bliss, until the day I saw you again, now we blend, a seamless kiss. © 2000 CM Bailey [This message has been edited by Corinne (edited 04-06-2000).] |

Corrine, Very nice. I liked how you found your way into the party. I REALLY liked how you ended. "It lived in me like a memory, a recurring dream of bliss, until the day I saw you again, now we blend as a seamless kiss." Outstanding writing! INclan |

Corinne, your words paint of lifee and death, in this wonderful tapestry of love. Often i'm amazed at how good you do it. Do you also paint by any chance? Parker |

-Corrine I stand in line among those in awe of your work. Each of your poems is full of such powerful emotion, awesome imagery, and chalk full of some of the most lovely poetry I have ever read...I say "some" cuz there are a lot of talented poets at Passions. However you sure are among the top of the list whose work shines through! Great job! AMY P.S. This was one of my favs of yours. ~Live today as though it were your last but prepare for tomorrow as though it were here~ |

Corinne, This is absolutely gorgeous, and what an awesome ending image - a seamless kiss. A Seamless Kiss Lost to sight, yet safe in richest soil - I am roots, in peace-filled sighs. Strangers respond to perennial blossoms - I am smiles, formed where lips become two. © RAM 4/6/00 |
