FAIRYTALE, part 2 < !signature-->He crests the mountaintop of Shame, Upon pale, prancing steed. No course of honor left his name, Knight of Yesterday's deed. Emblem of Hope yet carved in chest, Ashes before him stand. By eyes of dream daring attest Darkness now rules his land! By father's pride, by brother's blade, Given lifelong exile. Now all dead but a promise made To one who held his smile. He dares return, sword raised in jest, To fight for Pride once shorn. With eyes that burn in stern protest Of Love once left forlorn. He sights the eyes of lament lies, Homage given long last... Bemoans the cries of stifled tries To overcome the past! Though never shares by opened heart, The gift for her he saves. Lo, idly stares, there ripped apart, Upon the open graves. Oh, Prince of Rain, all hail you true, By eyes of Death, accursed. All heed the pain once swore to you, Lo, Justice returned first... As stationed smile glossed in denial, Still speaks her golden charms. By Time's revile, know Love passed while Within your brother's arms. Michael Anderson For all behind was dark and drear, And all before was night and fear. How many hours of night or day In those suspended pangs I lay, I could not tell; I scarcely knew If this were human breath I drew. Sounds like a heart searching for peace. From shame to hope to pride and time's healing. I think that's what this tale is about. Very emotional writing Liz |

I really really "got" this one babe...underlining and all!!!! Your last line (yet again) kicked the *** of this poem!!!! You've managed to delicatly wrap pride, honor, deception...and much more- with a silver bow m'dear!!! *shall I bow to you now, or later???* Open arms can be the most fragile in the world... |

Micheal.... Now that I have read both parts, all I can say is WOW! This was amazing, as are you. The last line really packed the punched. You really deliver with your lines! You give so much of yourself to all of through you writing. I for that, thank you. I'll echo that WOW! Stunning! I especially loved the verse: "Oh, Prince of Rain, all hail you true, By eyes of Death, accursed. All heed the pain once swore to you, Lo, Justice returned first..." Awesome, Michael. *Krista Knutson* As soon as man does not take his existence for granted, but beholds it as something unfathomably mysterious, thought begins. ~*Albert Schweitzer*~ |

My friend, I'm thinkin' that the decision to go with an epic was a good'un. Nope, not jealous of your writing skills at all...nope, not at all. (yeah right, she says, while skuffing off) Keep it up, guy. |

Liz, you are very perceptive. You've read into this chapter well. Andrew, I am so glad you are enjoying these.. There will be a part 3 soon and I'm sure a few after that... Lots I have yet to say...LOL devina, you are too much. You know me too well for my own good me thinks...LOL Uh, why don't you save that bow for this weekend, dear. I think I'd like it much more in person, don't you? Amy, quite the compliment there. Sincerest thanks to you. Krista, I think there was A LOT wrapped up in that one stanza... sort of tied the whole chapter together there. Glad you enjoyed that. Satiate, I will keep it up - just keep scuffing...LOL Thank you my friend for the inspiration. And thank you all for the kind comments. Michael |

Michael~ Anxiously reading each line. Intrigued by each verse. I'm caught up in this epic fairytale. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
