The Eyes of Love Tell me my friend, and speak the truth When you look at me From the depths of your soul, Tell me, what do you see? Do you see a mortal frame, Bound upon this earth? A simple man, a nobody Nothing special in his worth? Or do you see this heart of mine Overflowing with its love Trying to give unselfishly And striving to rise above? For my friend, when I turn my eyes And catch a glimpse of you, I see beyond your mortal ties And I know in my soul the truth. I see your kind and loving heart That beats within your chest, I see the pain that you've been through, And I know you've passed its test. I see the good that you have done For others who were in need I see the burdens you took on That knocked you to your knees. But most of all I see in you A kind and gentle soul, For I look through the eyes of love And 'tis a sight to behold. I see the good that you have done For others who were in need I see the burdens you took on That knocked you to your knees.
