IF I WERE TO DIE If I were to die today, It wouldn't be with grief or strife. For in every possible way, You gave meaning to my life. I'd die with peace in heart, Knowing that it was true, All love in me did start The day that I met you. I would know that I had given They very best I could, And though I might die unforgiven, My intentions truly were good. I would know I said "I love you", Every chance - that you might see, My feelings, knowing them true, The day you couldn't hear them from me. I'd take with me the joy That we shared within our rhyme. All this soul could ‘er employ Across the channels of Time. Yes, if I were to die today, No regret would I be showing, Except the words you would not say That left to me die not knowing. This is a wonderful piece Michael, and so sad I am truly sorry for the situation you are in. I am not a poet, I am merely one who speaks in emotion |

Michael, Thanks for pouring your heart out. I think sometimes we all have to stop & look at the things we already have in life & not try so hard to find the things we do not have. Life is not long, but short and death is something as personal as being born. Chris< !signature--> Blue Moon [This message has been edited by Chris Goodman (edited 02-12-2000).] |

It's hard to put into words, the way this poem makes me feel..and it makes me feel so much.... you speak for thousands of people who've been in this situation..as you speak so eloquently for your own private pain. Thank you for sharing this with us. Heal... |

Michael...again your words speak so sadly. But you have known love, some are never that fortunate. |

Michael- Feeling your pain. Understanding your need to write about it. Hoping and praying for better days to come. Reflect in having known love for even a moment as some are not that fortunate. *Hugs* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

I can't say that I fully understand this particualar phenomenon, but, as one who has lost love -- I could relate to several elements of this poem. When you've done all you can do -- what do you do next? Best wishes man. Hate is a dead thing. Who of you would be a tomb? -Kahlil Gibran |

Wizzaed, I was hoping too myself. Gen's not in the best situation for keeping lines of communication open between us right now. When she's not posting, I'm always left wondering is all. I think everyone's under the impression all is over between us but those words have not been spoken between us. It's the "not knowing" anything this whole time that has been so hard hard on me. We have had our problems, as most couples will, but I think they can be overcome with a little effort from both sides. Chris & Tasi, One should always count their blessings. I saw many severe cases of "have nots" in Mexico and Honduras which make me truly appreciate all I had to come home to, I am very grateful. Mistikman, Thank you for your understanding. Haleyja, Dropping you a line shortly. Thanx. PdV, Your words mean alot to me. But you of all people know how hard I either try to place myself in someone else's shoes when I write or drag them into mine...LOL I hope I am speaking for many here - or atleast reaching many. hoot_owl & Marge, To have known love such as I have, truly there is no greater beauty this life could hold for me. I will always reflect on that. Local Rebel, I can't say I understand everything that has happened, or "not" happened, either. Everyone should remember you all have only heard my sniffling and babbling...LOL Gen will have something to add soon I'm sure to clear all this up for everyone I hope, lest I be babbling on forever. What's next? *Sighs* and waiting I suppose. michael [This message has been edited by Michael (edited 02-12-2000).] |

Geesh, nothing like sitting on the edge of your chair ya know? Waiting and wondering. Very fortunate to know the love you have in Gen! <*\\\>< When you can't make up your mind Which way is right for you, Stop and softly ask yourself, What Would Jesus Do? |

ARRRRGH!! More depression is NOT what I needed on this day! Michael, I hope that things get brighter for you soon -- your poetry is simply too good not to read, but reading it is making me suicidal! Write something upbeat, silly, dark, anything! PLEASE!! All is not lost so long as you are still breathing ... --Kess Full fathom five thy father lies, Of his bones are coral made, Those are pearls that were his eyes; Nothing of him that doth fade But doth suffer a sea-change Into something rich and strange... --William Shakespeare, from The Tempest |
