Forever

I have stood right here beside you
In the times you needed most
Just a friend that you could talk to
When you felt like you were lost.

I have given you my shoulder
Where you may rest your weary head
When your strength had all but left you
And your heart was full of dread.

I have wrapped you in my spirit
To comfort you from the cold,
And let you rest in the warmth of kindness
While I watched over your troubled soul.

I have shielded you with love
From the dark and stormy rain,
And provided you a shelter
To relieve your soul of pain.

Now your storms are almost over
And your strength again returned
You will once more face tomorrow,
In your heart, life's fires burn.

As you face the world around you
Should another storm begin,
Remember this one thing I tell you;
Now and forever, you have a friend.

Mariee,

My secret muse,
I know not her name,
for she wants not to partake in fame,
plants a tear of feeling in my eye,
and these words of truth are what I do cry.

Thank you for the lovely comment!

Ruth,
I think that to find even one good friend is a blessing, so I must be overwhelmed, for I have all of you!!!

Love,
  Terry

TerryW~
To partake of your friendship
is to taste the sweetness of your soul.
Who could not enjoy truths
from your heart?

Keep it up ... reach within ... and pen !

terry,
this is a beautiful poem of your devotion.
very well expressed. your friend is most fortunate to have you.
thank you for your sweet replies to my work,
you are very kind.
take care,jm

...when you walked into the room, I saw their faces,
you made it feel like time was standing still...and I felt fascination...
then you turned and smiled in my direction...
and my heart...gave me away.
