Tears Cried Within

I look at myself in the mirror,
Sometimes I wonder why I'm still here.
The feelings that I feel inside
are getting harder and harder to hide.
There are times that I feel peace,
but this emotional state never does cease.
This feeling keeps happening again and again
the feeling of tears, tears cried within.
Not seen on the surface for others to see,
the tears that I have only exist in me.
Fear is the foe that I must embrace
to keep these tears from wetting my face.
All that I love seems to be lost
and now I am stuck facing this cost.
This feeling keeps happening again and again.
The feeling of tears, tears cried within.

This is really sad. Some fears only seem to go away after they're faced. Though I don't know what yours are. But I do hope that things will get better for you soon.

This is very sad yet beautifully written, Gilbert. You obviously have great talent. To overcome the pain within you have to share it. Keeping it hidden within is what gives it its strength. Writing is a great outlet, I have found, for pain and fear. So is talking to others. Feel free to email me, too, if you want to talk. Again, great poem!
