I’ve held my piece long enough No pun intended here Someone has caught my fancy It’s one of you, I fear. No words have I yet spoken Pledging to you my heart No verses yet are written I knew not where to start But as the time of spring Draws longer into the day My passion for you grows And I just have to say Deep within my heart Your tender smiles reside And now that I am bolder No longer can I hide I ask not for your love In reply to my little rhyme But if you could, please, Take a bit of time Think hard upon my plight Give pause at end of day “I love you too” is all I wish to hear you say Only one reply I seek But I know it will not be For of this love you are immune And cannot, sir, love me. |

Well, it's easy to see you aren't talking about me because, after so many months of seeing your heart, feelings and beautiful emotions permeate your poetry, I find it easy to say I love you. Who's da bum that wouldn't? |

You better tell him, else how's he to tell you? Hope it works out just the way you want it, too. [This message has been edited by Martie (edited 03-22-2000).] |

Well I can certainly relate to your situation PdV. Sometimes you want to hear absolutely nothing but those 3 little words... for nothing else matters. I hope they find there way to you. Michael |

Just in case he doesn’t show and to prove once and for all that I can’t write....... I could climb the highest mountainside Stand on the shore and turn the tide Leap clear twelve feet up off the floor I could keep the world from warring Stop Brazilian soccer strikers scoring I could do it and it wouldn’t be a chore But I’m sorry I can’t love you any more I could easily swim the widest sea Set all the oppressed nations free See all that mankind is and has in store I could brave the very fires of hell Fight rabid bears and live to tell Give you almost anything you ask me for But I’m sorry I can’t love you any more I could bring you wine or serenade You with the silly rhymes I’ve made From evenings fall until the morning dew I could snatch the moon out of the sky Grow angels wings and learn to fly Do all these things because you asked me to But I can't love you more than I already do Yes, I admit your general rule. That every poet is a fool: But I myself may serve to show it. That every fool is not a poet. |

If this man can't love you, PdV, I know there's someone out there who can.. Your heart is so kind and giving, it's got to be there for you.. |

Love is out there, Ms. deVine. And if it's destined, he will love you. And if it isn't, someone else surely will. You are a wonderful person and who couldn't love you? Beautiful work, deserves another bump up. *Krista Knutson* ~*Only when trudging through the soul's darkest midnight can one truly appreciate the glory of the sunrise*~ |

Sharon, how could we not reply? This one has to stay on the first page so that the love of Sharon's life can see it and reply. . . and if you're reading this, you lucky man. . . don't keep this poor woman in suspense. . . reply! Okay, you don't have to reply here, you can send her an e-mail, but do it soon!!! Oh, and Sharon, this was a beautiful poem. . . I hope that he does reply, becasue how could any man not love someone as wonderful as you? --------------------------------------------------- That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |

Ain't it the truth. It hurts to know how much you like someone and them not liking you. Everyone goes through it but why must we put ourselves through hell. anyway, love the poem (had to reply) ~nightloy |

I LOVE you Sharon. You have one of the most beautiful, caring, gifted hearts I've ever been blessed to know. I know that there are many men out there who only wish they could pierce that shell around your heart. I know I for one, love you. And even though you can't have me, even though you hound me with love letters all the time, even though you write beautiful poetry for me, I still only want to be friends! ok?? Luv ya girl! |
