Purgatorial Incarceration

Through Sightless Eyes

Another new morning burns at midnight's mist
Visions are swarming, to steal one last kiss.

These faeries of dream fade ever so slow,
When touched by the beam of daytime's bright glow.

Each stayed through the night, as staid company.
Made easy my plight; this sad symphony.

Caress and cajole, they flit and flutter
Each one knows their role as nightmare's shutter.

Contemplative here, dancing wildly there,
Then new one appears, lays an old one bare.

Always more than two, gladly do they part;
Allow one that's new, to play with my heart.

Dancing through darkness, they're ever the light.
There's no emptiness, just shadings of white.

In their beauty grey, I revel and play.
Grieving for today, which sends them away.

Their laughter like sun, dreams always worthwhile.
Just mem'ries each one, of "her" perfect smile.

 "I don't claim to be a wise man, a poet or a saint.
Just another man who's searching for a better way."
Jon Bon Jovi

Get it all out Chris... And when you're done, remember this friend is full of hugs...

 Open arms can be the most fragile in the world...

Ah Christopher, those are darn near the nicest sightless eyes I've ever seen and if she has the perfect smile, it must shadow in comparisson to your own

Ahem.

Thought you were going to hide this one from me, did you...? (giving you "that" look)

Purging, indeed.  Internal rhyme scheme, liberal alliteration, metaphor, simile -- what more could one ask from something you claim to be a clearing of cobwebs..?

Of his bones are coral made,
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange...
