The weather grayed wooden bench sagged slightly beneath me as I gazed across the wind stirred grass, watching the brittle tanned leaves whirl about in somesault circles like whimsical dogs chasing their tails A soft breeze whistled by my ears quietly whispering tales of places through which it had flowed, leaving me with detailed visions of deep azure seas and a birdlike view of pale green treetop leaves Slowly I removed my sun warmed flannel shirt, balling it up into a suitable pillow I languidly streched out along the bench fading into a light nap while my eyes traced the edeavors of pollen laden bees Inwards through velvet shadows my subconcious plied and brought forth outward glances of miasmic clippings revealing insights of import that my mind felt the need to reveal My dream spun like a tapestry woven from a single strand of thread, winding along it's current path always intertwining itself among the memories within the fold that resurfaced when touched even passingly Some of the colors were vivid and fine while other menaced both coarse and abrasive refusing to remain unnoticed, as if the pain once caused was insufficient for these few malignant insidious fibers But as the tapestry grew, the coarse outlines seemed to fade and blend while the brighter colors overlapped and hid them from view, softening their appearance with the assuaging passage of time As I awoke, a pale divide seperated my waking and dreaming worlds leaving behind enough for me to see and understand the shortfalls and the successes that build and embody my past and help mold my future From the west, swollen bruised clouds intimated the coming of a storm, but for this moments the cascades of luminous sunlight dispelled all my haunting shadows giving me a sense of hope and warmth to come A real man kisses his children goodnight |

Long? I was at the end before I knew it! Your writings are so beautifully descriptive! They are a pleasure to read no matter the length! Denise |

Didnt find this long at all...I was too captured by it to notice I guess. I liked this a lot Jbowie! You have a way with words, tells a story and shares so much of yourself with all of us. Thanks so much! Amy ~Live today as though it were your last but prepare for tomorrow as though it were here~ |
