Touch to be HeardSuch notions amassed of Spring's treasures, now found Though in longing, sweet silence, my own pleasure is bound What might someone breathe to this hesitant heart That would burn it anew with a poet's flamed art? This aching, just 'neath the smooth surface of skin Earthen eyes, mingled linens, murmurs whispered within Fallen captive, alas to wysteria's soft words budding bountiful blossoms need only touch to be heard In this Springtime's new birthing will I know dawn's delight? Or remain e'er sleeping Blind to love's mirthful night? ![]() |

This is just so soft and soothing - lovely language used here Claire...really well done. What might someone breathe to this hesitant heart That would burn it anew with a poet's flamed art? Indeed - something we probably all ask ourselves. ![]() 'Writing sharpens life; life enriches writing' Sylvia Plath |

Written in gentleness. I agree with the previous post - soft and soothing, even amid the longing. |

Most excellent, beautiful words as always. My favorite lines: In this Springtime's new birthing will I know dawn's delight? Or remain e'er sleeping Blind to love's mirthful night? |

Claire--the way you write of love, I think that you have vision that is not "Blind to love's mirthful night." Beautiful poem! |

Severn, I think you're right, in that we all feel alone and unloved or forgotten at times. Thank you for reading and letting me know what you thought. childomine, thank you. Writing, to me, is a soothing source. Marge, thank you, and the pleasure flows likewise, to be sure. Mistikman, I appreciate your reading and responding. Spring is a season of inspiration and beauty, but to share it is even more fulfilling. (*Smile*) Hoot Owl, a beautiful poem reply from a lovely and spirited lass. Thank you. JML, I'm glad you enjoyed this...thank you for reading. Martie, as always, I thank you for your reading and generous response. Rex, I've not been around as much as I would like either, so I don't think you'll find much of my work, but please do read whatever you want. I must try to catch up as well. Thank you for letting me know you enjoyed this one. Thanks to all for such encouraging responses. ![]() ~ Claire |

MM~ this is a well crafted poem. graceful. I think that there is a typo on "wysteria" (should be wisteria or wistaria) Otherwise, well done. bboog |

bboog, thank you for reading. It wasn't a typo, I just spelled it funny by accident. Think I'll just leave it alone though, it rather suits me that way. Thanks for your input. ~ Claire |

You capture the essence of springtime and the heart afraid to come out from within. What a lovely verse and thought, a mirror of my youth, laced with the emptiness that comes with low self esteem. But there is hope in the wysteria. Loved the poem Liz |

Zelda, thank you...a very kind response. Raven, so glad you saw beauty in my work...thank you. Liz, yes, Spring is springing regardless of my timid heart. Glad to know that someone "identified" with this. Thanks so much. ~ Claire |

I had to reply again. I also like these lines: What might someone breathe to this hesitant heart That would burn it anew with a poet's flamed art? This aching, just 'neath the smooth surface of skin Earthen eyes, mingled linens, murmurs whispered within I actually like all the lines...*S* |

I love this part "Fallen captive, alas to wysteria's soft words budding bountiful blossoms need only touch to be heard" What a beautiful spell you have woven here..and I'm left wondering too..will she find love..or remain sleeping? Claire, I love this!! You always find a way to speak so tenderly. . . What might someone breathe to this hesitant heart That would burn it anew with a poet's flamed art? I think that I know Claire, and I think that you know too. . . Simply wonderful. . . ----------------------------------------------------- That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |
