What a fix! My next topic for a "happy" poem is supposed to be a T.V. show I never watched. Luckily, the great Scots poet, Robert Burns, wrote a poem on a similar subject, but forgot to write down one stanza -- probably distracted by a new girl friend. I herewith supply his omission from the standard texbook poem, "The Cotter's Saturday Night." "The auld man, backins-comin, nears his cot. His wife and bairns kenna he has returned. For thae themsels a' gowl for the remote By which the TV channel may be turned. But whan the guid-man's presence is discerned Then not another whingin word is said, Sin' a' of them in wud time past hae earned The stacher of a boot upside the head. So they all settle down to wauk the glow, Where father's favorite 'WELCOME BACK, COTTER,' is to show." |

Those Sweathogs were insane! hehe Great poem! Did Jesus laugh? I think He did, 'cause He was once a little kid; and all of us were made with joy both sugar-spice girl and snake-snail boy! |
