On a Thursday It was twenty years ago on a Thursday of a summer evening when couples stroll and jasmine perfumes the air. Laughter stole over backyard fences and windows were open and lit with family when you took my hand and softened my lips with your eyes. I remember you said something with your heart that was so full of your expression that the caress of sound feathered across me and I breathed deeply to taste your scent. The corners curved around you like the slivered moon, and the street lights made our shadows melt together in provocative prediction. I was so wounded with the sting of a poisoned past and so hungry to fill the void left by time’s change that I thought my meaning might be in you. And so I fell into your love, a dove with broken wing and nestled there where your back curved and learned to fly. Now, it is Thursday and spring is almost here when sweet peas in rainbow dresses scent the air, and sunsets draw the sky with melted crayons. I watch in reverence as the night ascends around us, chills the air where I gather and turns me towards your warm encircling where flying is free and I can still grow me. |

You are really great at painting a picture with words. The visuals were outstanding, such a beautiful poem. |

Each time I am fortunate enough to read one of your poems, I think to myself, could she possibly write any more beautiful? I think you have boxed yourself in a corner on this one my friend. Like to see you try and top this one, truly wonderful poetry. |

this is exceptional...sweetly full of memories and emotional imagery. take care jm Now for me some words come easy But I know that they don't mean that much Compared with the things that are said when lovers touch You never knew what I loved in you I don't know what you loved in me Maybe the picture of somebody you were hoping I might be jackson browne |

Martie, I doubt if you could write out a grocery list without it becoming a beautiful poem. You are AWESOME! |
