OF TWO LOVERS < !signature-->There's two lovers in my life. I must admit it's so. Both wishing to be my wife, They will not let me go. I've loved them both so long, Can't think who I loved first. I know this must be wrong, Cause my life has just been cursed. A dance ‘tween good and evil, For which I feel no shame. As spineless as the devil I'd offer either my name. By bleeding hearts of passion They both hold me so true. In mesmerizing fashion As all conscience runs askew. One is always there for me, The other I've had to chase. And yet I need the ecstacy Found in each one's embrace. Now it's tearing me apart, Cause I know I have to choose. How can I answer to my heart, When by all accounts, I lose. In thinking, but by feeling, Look what I've gone and done. Emotion has me reeling That the two could ne'er be one. As one, she gives me strength to cope, The other quiet company. Ah, how I wish to give my hand to Hope, But long to keep with Misery. Michael Anderson For all behind was dark and drear, And all before was night and fear. How many hours of night or day In those suspended pangs I lay, I could not tell; I scarcely knew If this were human breath I drew. I thought I'd end up seeing names of two women, imagine my surprise to see the two things in your life that drive you most... this is a wonderful poem...I say take the hope..she's a better mate for life! |

Perhaps these 'ladies' are best left alone. I do not have hope nor do I need more misery. Your writing is excellent. |

Why do men always give their cars and demons women's names or refer to them as her and she? I always wondered this...lol. Nice piece Michael. |

"I've loved them both so long, Can't think who I loved first. I know this must be wrong, Cause my life has just been cursed. A dance ‘tween good and evil, For which I feel no shame. As spineless as the devil I'd offer either my name. ------------ As one, she gives me strength to cope, ***The other quiet company.*** Ah, how I wish to give my hand to Hope, But long to keep with Misery." ---------------- Those who make up the wisdom... once said "Misery loves company,"... and I've found this to be true. Those same wise men also say... "Hope is just around the corner", and she's waiting there for you. Another piece of advice... that stands the test of time... 3's a crowd ... life's a roll of the dice... and tonight ... lady luck be thine. jm sorry, that one even gives me a headache...lol... forgive me...(i'm sleep deprived)...just wanted to make you smile... thanks for the smiles you sent me today. this poem is witty and sweetly sarcastic with a touch of irony...sometimes it seems like fate has it in for us...a sense of poetic humor helps. take care M, janet marie |

Geesh Michael, I thought you were telling on yourself for a minute!!LOL...I'd say go with Hope, although Misery does have it's lonely appeal at times!!!! Open arms can be the most fragile in the world... |

WOW..what a scare. I thought that I had competition for a moment. This late at night it took me off guard. Then I realized that you must mean more to me than I have been admitting to. I know that you will not walk the beach with any other than me. What was I thinking? See you soon..Nice piece of work here. Love, ME |

Excellent writing, Michael. Misery is a lousy lover. Those who love it can have no other for it is all-consuming. Avoid her like the plague. |

nice piece michael. "Have you ever had to make up your mind" this song rattled through as I read you obviously heartfelt and introspective poem. |
