Cheshire Cat Moon
~Marge Tindal~

Walked outside and looked up at the moon.
There she was laughing like a loon.
Nothing bigger than that,
she's grinning like a Cheshire Cat.

I've seen her cresting, seen her full-round,
seen her eclipsing without a sound.
But tonight her laughter drew me out
to see what the grinning was all about.

I had to laugh at the look of her smile.
Hadn't seen that in quite a while.
If you haven't heard her laughing like a loon
then you haven't looked at the Cheshire Cat Moon.

Tasi-
Thank you, dear.
I like that 'whimsical' word very much.

SEA-
It really looks just like that tonight.
I'm a 'luna'tic over the moon !
Just ask Balladeer !  He usually knows the magnetic pull that gets me going to the inkwell when the moon does peculiar things.

Thanks, gal.

Is there anything you can't write about Marge?  I doubt it! This was fantastic.

Well, look at that! A Cheshire cat!
There on the face of the moon!
Hey, golly gee! What do I see?
It's laughing like a buffoon!

Wow! Look there, Marge! That moon's so large
It blocks out half of the sky!
Look at that smile! It lasts a mile
And I can tell you why.

That is no cat   you're looking at
I'm such a lucky guy
With you nearby you're seeing my
Reflection in the sky!

WhiteDove-
Ohhhhhhh ... is that a challenge?
Hmmmmmm !  Thank you for the nice remarks.
You know how much fun I have with these
intriguing (jam-packed with literary perfection) subjects.
It doesn't take much to set me musing !

Rex-
I like that !
And what a nice thing to say.
Thank you.

Balladeer-
I just KNEW you'd take one look at that 'buffoon' in the sky and figure I'd be penning something about it !

Come on closer,
you've got a hug coming.
I'd do it in a minute flat!
Then there would be two of us
grinning like a Cheshire Cat !

I love your poem.
Like a man who thinks quick on his feet.
(and romantically off them.)

Oh, get me out of here
before I get in BIG trouble !
*Grinning like a CHESHIRE CAT*
Love you ~*Marge*~

Thanks, guy. Green cheese, yah!
Cat's smile, yah !
Big Boy's Bottom ?
Can't wait for that phase of the 'moonie'.
Imagine that !

Christopher-
Thanks. Inspired by the moon last night. Walked out, saw it, said 'Why you're grinning like a  Cheshire Cat' .. wrote it and just had to post the adorable Cheshire Cat to show you what it REALLY looked like.
Glad you asked.  I get inspired easily ! LOL !

Marge

This is a classic "Marge" poem - free flowing, but very tight.  I love it.  As for that rascally Balladeer - well, we all love him, too - don't we?

I think I like Marge's poetry
for more than just the reverie -
for she gets everyone to come along
and join her as she sings life's songs.

A talent is she, there, smiling wide,
her goodness and wit she cannot hide,
why, it would take volumes just to describe,
Marge and her talent, and her love inside.

Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

And I can tell you ... that darned
Cheshire Cat is STILL up there grinning !
GO LOOK !

LongJohn-
I'm tickled that you liked it.
(And pssst! Yeah, on Balladeer,
he's kinda special.)

Sunshine-
Without a doubt this is one sweet
poem you've written for me.
Gosh, I'm honored and humbled by
your words.  I will always strive
to live up to your accolades.
I'll sure try my best at all times.

You know something..?

I know that cat and he thinks I live just for him. But what I really can't understand is why I let him win. Where did Alice ever end up anyway..? Poor o'l Moon.

After sitting down again to read he thought it would be nice to jump upon the keys. I guess I'll have to get him an iMac to suitor all his needs.

Just knowing you stopped by is
good enough for me.
Love you.

Lucky-
You are funny.  Couldn't be that
you ARE the Cheshire Cat ???? eh???
Good for 'Sinatra' ... guess he
wants to send a little 'paw print'.
OH NO ... NOT ANOTHER IDEA FOR A POEM?
Whew !  It passed.
My love to your 'mate' across the fir-lined study.

Marge,
Anything we can dream of is sure to be,
a whimsical cat,  mermaids in the sea
A garden of blossoms with a bench for tea
to share in heaven with a Love like thee!
