It is during the rain that I write these words A rain that is steadily falling It reminds me of all the pain I have felt As if a voice was gently calling To me there are different shades to light And different shades of being The birds fly quickly away from the rain And in the sun they sing In the midst of the darkness of it all Still we find hope to endure The shadows of life that pass on through And somehow we resist the lure Just as Heaven parts the clouds for awhile The day’s rain stops for here and now And brightens all with reconcile |

Oh, this is beautiful... Such a rhythmic, steady sound to it, JML. And the symbolism of the rain is very well employed here. I could read this over and over... ~ Claire |

If it makes you feel any better, the rain speaks to me too! It is one of my most faithful inspirations in my writing...something about it. A calming silence of rhythm that is magical in a way...Never mind! Great poem you have, and I too, loved the rhythm in it.....aaahhh. |

Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain....telling me what a fool I've been. This reminds me of that old song from the 50's or the 60's. Sometimes when it rains I find myself thinking about my life. This is excellent JML......James |

It would seem that the rain speaks to many of us JML. . . I see that I am not the only one to find both solace and sadness in its cleansing. . . Fine words my friend. . . ----------------------------------------------- That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |

"And different shades of being" This speaks volumes! The complexities of life don't seam so complex when seen in the right shade of light. VERY NICELY DONE! |
