The Essence of You ~First Knight~ As I lay next to you and you looked at me. I felt the tingle of your stare and the heat of your skin. The folds of hair laying across your face with your head tilted so. You shared with me that smile that could stop a million tears. And your lips that could kiss a way a million more. A firm stroke as your hand passed in my hair, Your skin so milky white and pure as the sheets upon which we lay Eyes so clear and full of life. I still hear the echo of your laughter in my mind, your voice in the halls of my memory. Branded there with the essence of you, burned in with the fire of your love. I am forever marked and can see no other, for in your beauty I am ruined. No other could compare, and a sin it would be to try. [This message has been edited by First__Knight (edited 03-08-2000).] |

David~ Such lovely thoughts you pen. What beauty is held in your verse. The love wrapped in the lines are perfections of your heart. Good to see you, my friend. Sending lots of hugs your way. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

This is so Beautiful and yet beauty doesn't describe the feeling that you left me with with your poem. You have a gift of which I'm blessed to receive by reading the poetry that you write. |

This is such an amazing poem, I think everyone else has already said is more than I could. The poem seems to me, to be as beautiful as the person you describe - if that is possible. The tragedy of it is that nobody sees the look of desperation on my face. Thousands and thousands of us, and we're passing one another without a look of recognition. |

"Forever marked, and can see no other..." Ouch...that is my problem exactly. Isn't it funny how someone can leave us searching for something that can never be found quite the same? My *mark* comes from almost 15 years back....that really bites! Beautiful poem sir...your heart is sincere, I feel it. |
